Debating the Religious Freedom of Muslim Minorities

This Research Paper analyses international integration policy regarding the religious freedom of Muslim minorities across the European Union. It firstly discusses the European law regarding religious freedom and the specific approaches of three EU countries- the UK, France and Germany. The article then diagnoses the roots of the conflicts that the presence of Muslim minorities in Europe has caused, such as a common perception of their values as non-liberal and threatening Christianity and European liberalism in general. Finally, through an analysis of the multiculturalist and assimilationist integration policies, the articles attempts to answer the question of whether there is a possibility of a more uniformed, European approach toward cultural integration.
